During Key West’s annual Fantasy Fest, practically anything goes.  You can be as outrageous as you want to be.  Thousands of people flock to the island to revel in the fun each October.  This is not an event for the kids, unless you can’t find a sitter that is!  You can enjoy a yacht race, the Royal Coronation Ball, Mardi Gras Massacre, and so much more.  The fun begins on October 20 with Fantasy Fest in Key West.  Your senses will be bombarded with the sights, tastes, and sounds of the Caribbean. Nudity isn’t allowed and body paint doesn’t count as clothing.  So be sure to cover up when you venture out to enjoy the fun.

 Among the events for you to enjoy is Goombay, which is a street party that is held in the Bahama Village.  The Conch King and Queen are crowned at the Royal Coronation Ball.  You can also attend the Headdress Ball and the street fair.  If you have a pet, then you should attend the Pet Masquerade.  This is a costume contest for your animal friends.  If you prefer to dress up yourself, then the Pretenders in Paradise is the costume contest for you.  The Masquerade March is a daytime procession that travels through Key West’s streets or you can attend the Fantasy Fest parade which is the festival’s culmination.

 There are many parties and events for you to attend.  Fantasy Fest is an event to rival Mardi Gras in its wildness.  There are so many activities for you to enjoy, you will not be able to fit it all in.  Your biggest problem will be where to go party next.  Some events are fee based; however, there are many that are free to attend.  Some of the costume parties and competitions have cash prizes for the best costume.  So why not get your party clothes on and get ready to attend Fantasy Fest in Key West?
